Done it, Country Living over with for another year. I have to say I have learned a lot this time, maybe a tad more than I would have liked to.
As you can see from the above pohoto, that isn't my stand, but hey there is my little display on the right hand corner. Yes I moved! After two days of being hidden amid a mountain of tartan cushions I espaped to the light and my darling friend Larch who runs "Country styled Homes" leant me this perfect little of corner of her stand.
What a difference, sales rocketed, we had so much fun, and it all turned into an adventure again.
By the way, Larch sells the most amazing ranch of country styled goodies, shaker designs, handmade cards, great Christmas goodies and the best beachy ranch of New England styled home ware that I've ever seen.
Other stands that I'd like to mention are Sue Quinn Bears. Sue has been a friend for many years and her woodland creatures are just so. so realistic. she has turned my daughter into an ardent collector, Sur's stand is the first on the list at any fair as far as Idgy is concerned. Take a look at her web site at www.bearsbysuequinn.co.uk and you will enter an enchanted forest.
And here is the bestest jewellery designer in the whole world. Cristiane and I have been friends for years and years. Her jewelery is a delight, it is all about gem stones, all manner of fabulous stones, from pearls, to amathysts, jade to turquoise. The most unusual designs, the most beautiful settings, this lady is a marvel in the beauty she creates. Take a look at www.cristianefischerjewellery.com and prepare to be dazzled.
This is Kitty's. My friend Jacquie runs this shop and every year produces a marvelous display and can make the tiniest of Christmas goodies fill out a huge stand and make a real Aladin's cave to brouze over. See her web site at www.kittys-sevenoaks.co.uk.
And here is Carey's stand at Rustique Interiors. Carey and I have been friends for years, we've travelled all over doing fairs together and every show we catch up yet again with all our news and chat. Carey specialises in the most amazing patchwork tweedy furnishings, from chairs and sofas to lamp shades and pillows. Her work is stunning and I am proud to have one of her first patchwork sofas in my living room. She is based in East Lothian and this is her web site www.rustiqueinteriors.co.uk.
And now last but by no means least, we have me doing my crafting demos every afternoon. Here I am on stage demonstrating how to make a fragrant pine cone decoration, using cones, cinnamon, lavender, faux pine and ribbons etc.
The ladies loved the demos and everyone always seemsed thrilled to have something they had made themselves to take home.
What a difference from llive TV. I usually have 6 1/2 minutes to do my on air demo, everything has to be times to the second with no stops or hesitation. Here I had half an hour to talk for which seemsd like a lifetime.
So that was Country Living for this year. As ever I caught up with so many old friends, both stand holders and visitors alike. I have to say again a huge THANK YOU to Larch for having me on her stand, darling Larch you saved the day!
Off to unload the car now……..
