I have been feeding my old book addiction again. For the princely sum of £2 l have just bought 12 volumes of Shakespears plays dated 1905 and 12 of Sir Walter Scotts poetry circa 1886. Can't beleive it, am thrilled. They are all in such lovely old rich red bindings with faded gilt trims. I have been lugging boks abut all weekend to find the right place to put them.
And here they are already being used as a prop to show off my new hearts. Couldn't resist making up a still life with them right away.
So what else has been happening this weekend. I spent Saturday evening at Colettes watching the fabulous movie 'The Fox and the Child'. Such amazing photography, beautiful scenery, fabulous animals and cute child. Okay so the childs 'teddy-bear-ear-hair-style did drive me mad by the end of the film, couldn't her mother tie her hair in any other style? Apart from that it was really fabulous. Just to show we were in 'at the movies' mode we had a jar of Jelly Beans to share.
Big mistake! We both wanted those elusive cinnamon flavoured beans. Lots of failed taste tests to find them, and we ended up going for the old favourite 'taste explosion' by grabbing handfulls all at once.
This is Sunday. Watching Idgy snoboarding at Xscape in Glasgow. She did a little course back in the summer holidays and this was her first time back on the slope. She loved it. And before anyne asks, no l did nt participate, l did the 'proud parent' bit and stood on the balcony clutching my usual cappucino and shouting encouragement.
