Here I am, back on Typepad again. Sorry for all the chopping and changing to the blog this summer. I wanted to liven it up, use my own url, make it pull together more.
I've gone around in circles really. Got someone in USA to help first, that didn't work out. Then got a someone here to professionally work on the blog and site together. I just didn't work, all I had left was typing up a blog entry and putting in photos. No more popping in a new link here, a new design there, no control.
When I confessed to a friend how much I missed my old blog and the freedom I had with it, but that I had had to jump through all these expensive hoops to get the look I wanted and now couldn't do anything with it, he stated something of the obvious. If you learned how to do the design stuff yourself, you could take controle and really make it your own again and so much better.
"But I don't know how to do it" I wailed. "Learn" he said. Then he said those three wonderful words, "I'll help you".
He did, he showed me how to do it. He gave me his time and so much patience. He translated the wording and gobbledigook that "For Dummies" thinks makes html etc easy for technophobes like me to use. I watched, he explained, I took notes.
And now here we are. Back in Typepad. A work in progress for me. I still have to put a few goodies in my shop. I have photos to resize and a wee bit of tweeking here and there.
Please bear with me as I work my way around my new domain, feeling my way with embedded text, html and widgets.
I will get there. Thank you SO much to Colin McCann for all your help, and to the lovely Jacquie and Mark for letting me steal their beloved's time so much over the past two weeks.
It's good to be back…….
